Description

For Tintern Abbey, Sharron uses the wool to evoke the hazy, blurred images of light coming through a stained glass window.

Measures 18" wide x 18" tall 

Unframed. 

These pieces are of handmade felt, an ancient textile technique. Starting with dyed, unspun wool. I comb, layer, and work the fibers until they lock together. Felted pieces are then stitched together and embellished with more yarns stitched to the surface. Inspiration often comes from nature: rocks, shells, butterfly wings, etc. But these forms become something never seen before.
